Program Officer

Jawad Abbasi is a graduate of Law from the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom. He has worked with lawyer Athar Minallah at his practice in Islamabad as well as with the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) on various projects including the introduction of a court automation system for law courts across Pakistan. He was part of the Chairman’s Core Strategic Team at the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and published a report for the International Growth Centre titled ‘Taxing Pakistan,’ which focused on issues pertaining to the taxation structure of the country. Jawad has also worked as a fundraiser and aid worker in the flood-affected areas across Pakistan, which has led to the establishment of a small NGO by the name of ‘Khushaal Pakistan.’ He is currently working as a Programme Officer at the Innovations for Poverty Alleviation Lab based out of Information Technology University, Punjab.
